, located at 213 High Street Prahran, was a shitty pub now transformed into a trendy pub, offering a slick environment which is perfect for socialising with friends or an intimate rendezvous.

The mouthful dishes are perfect appetisers if you are not feeling overly hungry. I tried the divine spanner crab croquettes with bonito (similar to mayo) and the tempura king prawn shiso leaves with ponzu (soy sauce). You will notice bonito and ponzu are somewhat fancy words for simple sauces. They may sound different but they taste the same.

Without a doubt, is keeping up with the Joneses on all levels; the menu and everything on it is fantastic. Expect things like roast local snapper fillet with coriander and walnut salsa with yoghurt tahini dressing. Sides like smashed chats with garlic and rosemary - you see, it's just potatoes.

The website is super slick with a download of the full menu. Love it. Go to www.thesmithprahran.com.au

I must mention the drinks menu is a classic. The cocktail menu is divided into three categories; Smith Megamix, Original and Retro. First on the list is Muay Thai Punch: "remember full moon parties, Thailand tattoos and ping pong shows? No? Neither do I". The Charlie Chaplin is "a loud drink named after a man famous for not saying much at all". Amusing no? Just reading this list kept me entertained.

is sure to impress in every sense.

I see myself coming here regularly.
