Few Perth people will know what it's like to be homeless, to have nowhere to turn to or to sleep out on the streets night after night. To raise awareness and funds about homelessness, St.Patrick's Community Support Centre and the University of Notre Dame are hosting to give people the opportunity to find out what being homeless is like, even if only for one night.



The event will take place on Saturday, 6th May at 5pm at the University, with participants setting up camp in either the Malloy Courtyard or Prindiville Hall. While it's not compulsory to stay the night, the idea of the event is to get friends and family talking about homelessness and to support the plight of Perth's most disadvantaged people.



Participants can enjoy live music from local jazz singer Lois Olney, folk singer Ezer Eve and sing along with the Starlight Hotel Choir, which is made up of clients from St. Patrick's. Photographer Kate Heaslip will have her recent exhibition – the moving 'No Fixed Address' – on show during the event.

Don't forget to BYO sleeping bag, pillow and blankets. Your friends and family can sponsor you if they don't quite feel like joining you for the night. It is a family-friendly event, so no alcohol is permitted.



Dinner options will include soup and crusty bread and breakfast will be available the next day for a donation. All funds go directly to St Patrick's.

Early bird prices are available until April 21st - $60 for a family of two adults and up to four children, Adults $25, children $10 and concession $15.

Prices after April 22nd - $80 for a family of two adults and up to four children, Adults $35, children $10 and concession $15. Tickets are available here .

This is your opportunity to gain a small insight into what being homeless is like, so give up your comfy bed for one night and camp out under the stars for a good cause.
