No plans for the next weekend? How about free falling out of a plane at 230 km/h? Tandem skydiving is an experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Remember that first time you dared to ride on a rollercoaster and how it felt when it suddenly went over the peak and rushed down the track? Now multiply those emotions by ten.

Free falling from 6000 to 14.000 feet altitude is the ultimate adrenaline rush. You feel a bit like Droopy the dog as you are falling so fast that even your skin flatters in the wind.

But no worries: You are securely attached to your experienced tandem instructor who navigates you in the air and, most importantly, who pulls that lifesaving cord!

When the parachute opens, the speed drops all of a sudden and it feels like you are pulled up into the air like a bungee jumper. Now you can relax a little bit and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you slowly approach the ground.

Tandem skydiving is easy and everybody who is fit, healthy and does not exceed weight and height limits can enjoy this one of a kind experience.

There are several skydiving centres in and around Brisbane such as Brisbane Skydiving Centre and Ripcord Skydivers.

If you would like to jump in a stunning scenery, why not travel a bit further and book with Skydive Byron Bay or Sky Diving Australia at the Sunshine Coast.

Depending on the altitude you jump from, a tandem sky dive costs between $220 and $300. Make a booking and ask the skydiving center if they can give you an update on weather conditions before you head out: You won’t be able to jump it the winds are too strong.

To share your experience with your family and friends, arrange for a DVD or photo package, a service many sky diving schools offer for a surcharge.
