Poetry and Sketching in the moment


Following her successful Sketchy Workshops conducted at blue-bird coffee lounge, well known and successful community visual artist and writer, Fran Callen, will be joining Sue Fleming, former lecturer at The Adelaide Arts College Campus on Light Square, in conducting their new and exciting workshop SketchyWord - Poetry and Sketching in the moment.

SketchyWord is a fun and creative workshop offering participants the opportunity to write poetry and sketch original pieces. Designed for all skill levels it will get everyone not only writing and drawing but also responding to the work of others.

Participants will be writing and sketching in the artistic and inspiring spaces of blue-bird coffee lounge and Wunderkammer Gallery and Gifts.

there are no pre-requisites; just enthusiasm for writing poetry and/or drawing experimentation, and a desire to develop your creative skills, loosen up, increase your confidence, or just get back into writing and drawing.

The instructors, Fran Callen and Sue Fleming.

Fran Callen teaches drawing and painting at the South Australian School of Art. She has produced some amazing pieces. In 2012 she was resident 'Live Artist' at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and co-ordinated the exhibition Move at Light Square Gallery, Adelaide.

Sue Fleming, writer, former student and lecturer at The Adelaide Arts College Campus on Light Square, is well known for her writers' workshops. Recently Sue launched Wunderkammer Gallery and Gifts, her dream of a gallery offering hand-made art works and crafts come to fruition.

Max number of participants: 8
Cost: $60 ($20 deposit required)
