I am, of course, talking about skating. Or rollerblading. This is a form of exercise that'll put muscles on parts of your legs that you never knew existed - until muscles appeared on them...

Running (or rolling) since 2000, these events have been steadily growing in popularity and attract up to as many as 500 skaters each time.
A meet-up rolls for between 9 and 12 miles, and lasts around two hours. The organisers like to chop and change the route each time to keep it interesting.
The events are marshalled by expert skaters, and to really get everyone in the groove a pumping sound system - with a bass beat so heavy it probably registers on the Richter Scale - is brought along too. It's a party on wheels.
Before turning up, take a moment to
read through the rules to prevent the skate descending into chaos. You'll be skating on the capital's roads so naturally safety is of the utmost importance.
