Govinda's Silent Film Festival is an exciting cinema event which will be held on selected days from February 21st to April 1st, 2012.

This event is perhaps inspired by the success of the multi-award winning silent romance/comedy
The Artist and is a great opportunity for film enthusiasts to rediscover some of the great early cinema releases. Key feature films in the festival program include;
J'accuse (1919)- directed by Abel Gance.
The Last of the Mohicans (1920) - directed by Maurice Tourneur.
Destiny (1921) - directed by Fritz Lang.
By The Law (1926) - directed by Lev Kuleshov.
Captain Fracasse (1929) - directed by Alberto Cavalcanti.
The Adventurer (1927) - directed by Charlie Chaplin
Cops (1922) - directed by Buster Keaton.
The Marriage Circle (1924) - directed by Ernst Lubitsch.
The Clinging Vine (1926) - produced by Cecil B D Mille.
The Italian Straw Hat (1927) - directed by Rene Clair.

Most of these classic films are hard to come by, so this is a rare opportunity to view them as they were meant to be seen.
The selected feature films have been restored and will be accompanied by a musical score.
