After the 2000 Olympics, they had to transform the Athlete's Village and they built a new suburb – Newington. It's a new suburb and unless you live there or know someone who lives there, most people wouldn't venture out to this area.

The Newington Marketplace is the local shopping and entertainment area with cafes and restaurants. It does feel like you are in an industrial zone because there's not much around that I could see in the dark. There's street parking so it's convenient.

We were recommended Siam Kingdom and headed there for some Thai. There's plenty of seating and the decor does make you feel like you might be in some tourist Thai spot.

Because it was a Monday night, kids eat free! It includes a meal, drink and ice cream. They have a limited selection and I'm sure there are conditions but it does make it worthwhile if you have kids.



We ordered a few dishes to share and I thought the food was average for a Thai meal.
