Head to Paddington for brunch and a stroll along leafy LaTrobe Terrace, where you can enjoy the sunshine and explore the cute shops and galleries set in gorgeous old worker's cottages.
Paddington is the perfect spot to find something a little bit different for yourself or a gift, although - with the mix of items available - browsing itself is an event.
There are a couple of antique stores that are well worth a look - packed with everything from furniture to vintage clothes and intricate estate jewels – you could spend all day there and likely unearth some treasures.
Follow up the antiques with a peek inside the trendy shops selling amazing handmade jewellery and handbags. It's like an art gallery where everything is for sale!
There are also shops with unusual home accessories mixed with some wonderful second-hand finds.
For example,
Thousand Island Dressing has an outlet shop just off LaTrobe, which is great for cheap beaded necklaces and funky lamps.

When you get hungry, pick out a cosy little cafe for brunch. There are a few choices, and most have vegetarian and gluten free options on their menus.
There is parking on the steep side streets that run along LaTrobe Terrace. Get in early and you should find a space, otherwise Brisbane City Council buses run frequently from the Cultural Centre stop near South Bank.
