Quiet, laidback and warm are just some of the words that describe a typical shopping experience at
East Keilor's Centreway.
Known to many of the locals as "the Centreway" or Centreway, it is probably the simplicity of this place that attracts its visitors. Those who shop in this area aren't necessarily from East Keilor but generally come from all suburbs belonging to the
Moonee Valley City Council.
Centreway consists of a number of important businesses, both large and small. These include pizza shops, bakeries, hairdressers, legal and financial services, Australia Post, and JB Hi-Fi. I believe the majority of visitors that come from outside East Keilor only go there to shop at JB Hi-Fi.
Take your pick from the surrounding cafes to sit down and take a load off when doing your shopping. This small shopping district also tends to specialise in retail, but such outlets are quite miniscule compared to department store giants like
K-Mart.
Be careful when exiting East Keilor's Centreway. The one-way road surrounds a central park with a playground, forming a square. I totally forgot that it was a one-way street the first time I ever drove there and copped some abuse on the way out.
