It is great to see more of an abundance of choice when it comes to Japanese food for lunch in Collingwood's Smith Street. Seeing this establishment crowded, even on a Wednesday afternoon is a good tell tale sign that there must be quality written all over the Japanese food. Having tasted the chicken teriyaki bento box, I left feeling full and satisfied. Slightly cheaper than what you can find anywhere in the city.
The food was tasty and somewhat filling, and I have also found the service to be friendly and efficient. Not the best Japanese restaurant around in Melbourne. There are pockets of slightly better Japanese restaurants in the city, and even along Acland Street where you can really do much better on the Japanese food stakes.
Yet I was satisfied and I got my money's worth. If I am ever back in this area and I am in the mood for Japanese, I will return to Shobu.
