If you are looking for the most delicious dumplings in Melbourne, look no further than Shanghai Village.

It is such a great find and once you've dined there once, I promise you, you'll return again and again.

Situated on Little Bourke Street, in Melbourne's Chinatown, Shanghai Village is a stone's throw away from Exhibition Street and the hustle and bustle of the city.

I prefer to dine at Shanghai Village at lunch time because due to its popularity, it gets very busy in the evenings.

Yet in saying that, it's a great place for an early dinner, if you are catching a show at Her Majesty's Theatre, literally a few minutes walking distance up the road.

Shanghai Village is without a doubt the best priced Asian restaurant in the inner city. I mean where else can you get a serve of 15 dumplings for under $7.00? But what is even more impressive, the food is outstanding.

With a menu that boasts seafood, soups, rice, noodles and of course the famous Shanghai dumplings, the customer is certainly spoilt for choice.

Be prepared when you go in, that after you've been shown to a table and ordered, you have to get your own cutlery, plates and cups, which is really no biggie, when the place is so cheap, yet so good.

Chinese tea is complimentary and you can refill your cup as many times as you like.

With hot pink walls and red lanterns as décor, the ambience is one of energy.

If you are dining with a friend or colleague, I suggest you sit at the table near the fishtank.

Watching the fish is meditative and the unusualness of the fish they have in the tank will inspire conversation.

Cheap and consistently good. Go and check out Shanghai Village.

You won't be disappointed.
