A trip to South Melbourne's famous Clarendon Street isn't complete without a stop off at Sezana's. This friendly coffee joint is home to one of the hottest burgers in the world, those who manage to stop tears streaming down their eyes and finish the whole thing even get their picture up on the 'wall of flame'. But before you try, be warned this burger is full of three of the hottest chillies and mixed with a famous ghost chilli powder in a mind blowing sauce. This is not your average beef burger. To make the wall of flame you must eat the whole thing in 20 minutes. Avoid cold drinks for another five minutes and your next burger is half price.
Those who manage to polish off an entire 'Super Sizer Sezana Burger' go down as a Sezana's Champion; for $22.50 you can double a Sezana's burger, with a double side of fries. If you eat it within 45 minutes you get your name on the hero board and if you beat the current record you get it for free.
The burgers at Sezana's do not disappoint. I didn't even order a Super Sizer and I struggled to finish every last bit of the Sezana's Summer, which is full of mouth-watering chicken, bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce and pineapple, in a giant bun. The staff are very friendly and it's also a handy free Wi-Fi location. The food ranges from gourmet burgers, to hearty baguettes, pasta, pies, salads, breakfast alternatives and desserts. Sezana's staff take great pride in their coffee and there's a decent range on offer. For hot days I recommend you try one of their refreshing milkshakes or fresh smoothies.
Sezana's is perfect for catching up with friends, enjoying breakfast or lunch and trying a succulent burger; possibly going down as an eating champion is a bonus. Food and drink is very reasonably priced, with burgers costing from $7-$10.
