Setting the Scene

Home > Melbourne >
The Setting the Scene exhibition is on daily at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image until the 19th April.

It's a very interesting and well put-together little show which delves into the world of movie set design, and the thought went into creating the look of many famous movies.

It also features original sketches, storyboards and models from movies such as Baz Luhrmann's Australia, The Matrix, Alien, Metropolis, Mon Oncle, A Clockwork Orange, Cabaret.

Seeing the material from the Alien movie alone made the trip worthwhile for me. Those aliens were so scary!

The exhibition website is well set up:

You can take a tour, check out a series of special events (use the menu on the left), or watch the dinky little trailer.

Why? Love the movies? You'll love this.
