Situated in serene Kensington Gardens, London's Serpentine Gallery (named for the nearby Serpentine Lake) is loved for its exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, including the work of Man Ray, Andy Warhol, Henry Moore and Damien Hirst.

Every year the gallery features a unique pavilion designed by renowned architects as their first work in the UK. This year's creation, designed by Japanese artists Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, is a floating canopy that gives the impression of a drifting, reflective cloud, and the space beneath offers a cafe and picnic area by day and by night a setting for Park Nights, the Serpentines's film and music events.

Until the 8th of November the gallery presents the work of the artist and activist Gustav Metzger and the exhibition spans fifty years of his career, including the ongoing Historic Photographs series which records world changing events (even those unfamiliar with his name will recognise the work). The gallery is also offering a range of Limited Edition Prints by well known contemporary artists at affordable prices - for as little as £52 pounds you can start your own art collection!

The Serpentine Gallery has an atmosphere all its own that's both engaging and relaxing, with activities to suit all ages.
