Search for Spooks at the Bronx Zoo

Home > Things to do in New York > Fun for Children | Nature
Event: 10/10/2009
Forget the cute and cuddly, this season is all about creepy crawlies! Whether you have kids, are a kid, or are looking to regress to childhood for a day, the Bronx Zoo's Halloween celebrations are sure to please.

Wildlife magic shows and hayrides tell tales of haunted happenings. Learn how to carve an animal-shaped pumpkin like a pro or make a wildlife mask from recycled materials. The highlight of your visit will no doubt be the Haunted Safari. Zoo staff will take you through dark rainforest and bat-filled caves in search of a "lost species."

Boo at the Zoo takes place every weekend throughout October. Wear a costume for free admission (sorry, kids under 12 only!) and enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the park. Don't have a costume? Get your face painted like your favorite creature, or browse the cages for future ideas.
