Sculpture by the sea is Australia's favourite annual event where a variety of sculptures are displayed along the coastal line. The 14th annual exhibition at
Bondi beach starts on 28th of October and will be on till 14th November.
The display can be found on the coastal walk from Bondi to
Tamarama beach. The coastal walk begins at the bottom of Notts Avenue (where the Bondi Icebergs swimming club is located), and runs off Campbell Parade, Bondi. The coastal walk can also be accessed by stairs at various points along the exhibition route at Hunter Park, Gaerloch Avenue and Pacific Avenue. The exhibition finishes at Tamarama Park, Marine Drive, Tamarama.
With displays from local and international artists, the sculptures on display each year are sure to leave the visitors impressed. A large variety of materials and techniques are used like sandstone, concrete, metals like steel, bronze, copper and ceramics etc. Check out the
picture gallery for photos of some of the previous displays.
The festival also gives you a chance to meet the sculptors whose art is on display. During the event, you can hear the artists speak at Sculpture Inside, Bondi Pavilion Gallery each Saturday and Sunday from 3pm.
Take advantage of the good weather, rub some sun screen and grab a camera and get to Bondi beach between 28th October and 14th November.
