Sydney boasts of many reserves and parks along the harbour side that offer lovely views and a calm environment to beat the city rush.
Sawmillers Reserve is located in North Sydney and is a short walk from the North Sydney station. To access it you can turn off Blues Point Road and take either French street or West Crescent street that will lead you to the reserve.
This reserve is a wonderful spot for a picnic and offers brilliant views of the suburbs across the water like Pyrmont and Balmain and also towards Berry's bay and Balls Head Reserve. There is also a little water-side park inclusive of a ship-wreck and a tree house for children. It has also become increasingly popular as a location for a destination wedding because of its enchanting views.
This reserve though less known serves as a lovely place for a person to de-stress and relax and enjoy a quiet holiday with the family. You will find it relaxing to just walk down on the shoreline after a tired day and enjoy the fresh air and calm environment while letting the beautiful views sink in.
Hikes and Cycle Treks around Sydney include Sawmillers Reserve as one of the stops, and even a starting point or ending point since it is centrally located. Fishermen use the foreshore a little, there are boathouses nearby, and native vegetation lines the steep hills backing the reserve.
Located centrally this is one reserve that should not be missed.
