So recently I discovered the magical God made invention -The Slow Cooker. I don't know why I hadn't tried it before. My mother gave it to me months and months ago as she no longer used it and it was hid away in my cupboard, until last week I was browsing recipes on the internet and came across a yummy home cooked sausage casserole/stew thing. Sounded really good so I thought I would give it a go.

This serves recipe serves around four people. All you need to add is some fresh greens like broccoli and you are good to go for a hearty family meal.

What you will need:
12 sausages (This recipe works well with cheap sausages too)
2 medium sliced onions
1 red chilli (optional)
2 tins chopped tomatoes
2 tins of mixed beans
Handful of frozen peas or sweet corn

What you need to do:
1. Brown the sausages and soften the onions slightly in a frying pan.
2. Throw all of the ingredients into the slow cooker
3. Voila!

8 hours on a low heat and 4 hours on a high heat. It is shocking how simple it is. I am a fan of anything that you can stuff into, ditch and let it do its thing. Even if I am in the house, I am certainly not one to be slaving over a hot cooker.

What do you think? Have you tried using a slow cooker?
