From December 4 until Christmas Eve, everyone's favourite bearded mythical figure, Santa Claus (not
Captain Jack Sparrow) will be in Melbourne's
City Square (Corner of Swanston and Collins Street), carefully listening to all the children's whispers of wanting the latest additions for their video game consoles (the
X-BOX Kinect and
PS3 Move ), or new release
Barbie Doll (
(The Barbie Video Girl) , or various tie-in film and television merchandise - be it
Harry Potter ,
Transformers ,
WWE , or even
Justin Bieber . This is a free event, so bring the kids along (and a camera) and see the City Tree and Christmas decorations while your there. (I'm pretty sure he won't be anything like
Bad Santa - (
Caution Strong Language)).
Along with telling Santa their wishes in person, children are also invited to write a very special letter to Santa, and address and post it to the North Pole (I'm guessing he will receive it when he goes back home). The special
Santa Mail Box is located in the
City Square and be sure to post it before December 17! If you are wondering what to tell Santa - check out this website -
Email Santa , where kids ask Santa how does he get from one country to another so quickly, and give advice about how to enter the house safely - not to fall in holes in the floor and not to get stuck in the chimney! What's more is if children include their return postal address - Santa will write back!
So make your way to the CBD to see the big guy and get your orders in - there isn't very long till Christmas Day!
