Pianist
Sally Whitwell will perform the works of contemporary classical composer
Phillip Glass as featured on her ARIA award winning 2011 album Mad Rush. According to
ABC Music Glass's work could be considered as much a pop cult phenomenon as a descendant of Beethoven.
As part of the
5th Peninsula Summer Music Festival this second recital will tantalise spectators with
20th century minimalism coupled with a uniquely Australian twist as the Sydneysider performs the solo piano music pieces on a
Stuart Piano. With a fresh perspective of modern classics, Sally Whitwell will also perform new numbers from her upcoming album including compositions by
Yann Tiersen.
The recital will be held at St Johns in King St Flinders from 2.30pm – 3.30 pm on Saturday January 7th. You can either just book seats or book in for lunch as well. Prices start at $40 plus $20 for lunch. Treat yourself and book for both Saturday recitals with lunch for $95.
