The drive up to Peterborough is scenic and breathtaking, and the three hours it takes to get there seems to go very quickly. If you have never visited Peterborough, it is one of the mid north's most picturesque towns. Like many older South Australian towns, Peterborough has it's fair share of haunted history.
Probably the most famous haunted residence is Saint Cecilia Mansion, which was built way back in 1913. It was originally home to the Bishop of Port Augusta, John Henry Norton. The mansion has had several different owners over the years and was eventually renamed Saint Cecilia in 1980. There have been many reports of experiences such as strange noises at night, voices and other events that cannot be explained.
Overnight tours are available and they are the perfect way to get that paranormal experience. This includes accommodation in one of the beautiful bedrooms, a three course dinner and tea or coffee. In the morning you will be served a delicious fully cooked English Breakfast. The cost is $180.00 per person and you must be aged 15 and over. Make your booking by telephoning 0407 715866.
