You don't have to be the owner of a full-body swimsuit to enjoy Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre (RALC). From slides to waves to badminton, the centre has a range of watery and not-so-watery options to keep the whole family entertained.

The wading pool is the perfect place for younger kids to splash and paddle while they gain their water confidence. Older kids will enjoy the Rapid River and bubble whirl pools, as well the 56m giant water slide and 40m wave pool that are operated on weekends and during school holidays.

The centre also hosts birthday parties for children aged five to thirteen. Included in the aquatic celebrations are birthday decorations, organised pool games, catering, and casual use of the centre's facilities after the party has finished.

For older patrons looking to take a dip, there is a 50m Olympic pool and a 25m pool. Organised Aqua Exercise programs that assist with joint mobility and general fitness are conducted throughout the week. Guests who would prefer to relax and wind down can do so in the steam room, sauna, or spa.

Learning to swim is an integral part of life in Australia and RALC holds a range of classes suitable for all ages and abilities. These classes are run by Austswim certified instructors and work to "promote water familiarisation, safety, correct stroke technique and personal development within an enjoyable and safe environment."

RALC doesn't just cater for people wanting to dip their toes in the water. Casual attendees are welcome to hire the badminton court for an hourly rate of $22. Additionally, there is an extensive organised indoor sports program for netball, futsal, basketball, hockey, and junior soccer enthusiasts. Information on how to register can be found here.

All of the pools at RALC are heated year round, so there is no reason why you shouldn't grab your goggles, slip on your swimmers, and dive in today.
