My burlesque cherry was popped when I went to The Burlesque Ball a few weeks ago, so when I got to go to my second burlesque extravaganza, I thought I knew what to expect.

I feel so special!

The Ruby Revue is a more casual affair, though not by any means inferior. This time I've come prepared with a bit of burlesque flair in the form of a corset and a bow-tie. Upon arrival, I see that the audience is nowhere near as dressed up as at The Burlesque Ball. But at least I made an effort.

Held at The Arthouse, The Ruby Revue is a shorter burlesque variety show, hosted by Cam Knight.

You can choose from a handful of dishes if you've got a Dinner & Show ticket. But I personally think that buying your dinner separately - that way you get more variety from the menu.

I definitely enjoy the atmosphere here. Digging into some gnocchi while watching gorgeous women peel off their clothes is probably not something that a lot of people have done. But I recommend it. And make sure that you clap, whistle and yell at the same time.

The line-up tonight includes Tootsie Calooli, Laren LaRouge, Danica Lee, Briana Bluebell and Selina Vixen. From roller skates and feather fans to two-faced performances, the night is entertaining and seductive. I'm especially impressed by Briana Bluebell who is is probably the most talented dancer of the night.

The variety is quite impressive. There's a Marie Antoinette act, an ominous black bride performance as well as feather boas and bejazzled private parts. The evening ends in a sing-along competition that audience members can participate in to win tickets to anther Ruby Revue show.

My one tip is to get to the show early, so that you'll get a good table near the front. We were seated towards the back, where it was hard to see anything that was happening if performers were doing floorwork.

On December 11th, The Ruby Revue will be celebrating its 5-year anniversary at the Factory Theatre. Join the festivities and watch Danica Lee, Rita Fontaine, Imogen Kelly, Briana Bluebell and The Strawberry Siren. Purchase your tickets here.

Otherwise, The Ruby Revue is here to dazzle you every second Sunday of every month.

Note: I attended The Ruby Revue as a guest of the production on Sunday, November 13.
