Have you always wanted to become a foster carer for the many cats and kittens under the care of RSPCA? If yes, now is as good a time as it will ever be to help out, as the summer season is always one of the busiest times of the year for RSPCA. While most of us are off work or school and are most likely going to be away on holidays, RSPCA continues their hard work all year round, regardless of what holidays other people are celebrating.

On 10th December 2016, RSPCA invites all to join them in a 'Kit-Tea Kitten Shower' from 9am to 12pm at the RSPCA Animal Care Campus in Wacol. In addition to the opportunity to enjoy morning tea with RSPCA staff and volunteers, it's also a great opportunity to learn about ways in which you can help the cat and kittens in RSPCA's care.

  • How does the process of fostering cats and kittens work?
  • How do I bottle feed a young kitten?
  • I can't foster cats or kittens, but how can I help out as a volunteer on campus?
  • What volunteer roles are available with RSPCA?

  • The day will also involve live demonstrations as part of the information session, in addition to a campus tour of the Animal Care Campus in Wacol, one of the most significant animal welfare facilities in the southern hemisphere.

You can also help out by bringing any of the following items as a donation to RSPCA cats and kittens; your donations will be much appreciated by the animals in their care during this festive season! Some of these items can be found at RSPCA World For Pets (on campus), a pet store in which all proceeds stay within RSPCA and to support the animals in their care.

  • SnuggleSafe Microwave Heatpad
  • collar elastic&submit= Cat collars with an elasticised section
  • cave&submit= Soft cat caves
  • Cat and kitten toys
  • Cat and kitten scratching posts
  • 'Flat' soft toys (easy for kittens to climb up on and not roll off)

  • Financial donations are also more than welcome so that RSPCA can purchase heating mats, bottles, teats, and milk formulae for their Kitten Program (which includes the current Kit-Tea Kitten Shower).

Celebrate the festive season a little differently this year, get into the spirit of sharing and give back to the animal community in any way that you can - every little bit helps!
