Lawrence and his time in the Royal Air Force.Immediately after the First World War, T.E Lawrence was the world's most famous man - the first truly international media megastar. Tales of his historic exploits earned him the nickname of "Lawrence of Arabia", and catapulted him into a celebrity unknown before that time, and seldom seen since.Overwhelmed by the publicity, and mortified at being connected with Europe's betrayal of the Arab people and their quest for independence, he withdrew into the RAF under the assumed name of Aircraftman Ross. Threatened with press exposure, his mind flashes back to the desert – to the epic taking of Akaba, his abuse at the hands of a Turkish official, the death of his two beloved young Arab bodyguards, and the Arab army's historic entry into Damascus. While David Lean's iconic film transported us to the desert, Rattigan's powerful play transports us into the mind and soul of this tormented hero who has intrigued biographers for a century.Will Cox will star as T.
