I work for a travel wholesaler on Sydney's north shore and love photography, festivals & events, and travel, of course. My new passion is writing and I hope to inspire others. Visit my blog at www.travelwithirenke.blogspot.com
Get set for two nights of music, dancing, live art, arcade games and activities, light installations, pop-up bars and food stalls, set to take place on the rooftop gardens of Greenwood Plaza at North Sydney.
The end of March sees this fiesta of fun and frivolity with both live music and DJ spun tunes that you won't want to miss. Party vibes on Thursday night (30th) will be provided by Soul of Sydney with their love of funk, soul, disco and golden-era hip hop music. They will bring their crew of DJ's, Soul Train dancers and MC's to jam on the rooftop. Catch some breakdancing and maybe a limbo line or two. On Friday night (31st), DJ Dante Rivera kicks off the atmosphere with the energy of a live band before La Fiesta Sound System join in with a full line-up of percussion, drums, saxophone and vocals giving out a mix of soul, funk, disco, RnB, pop and house music.
Along with arcade games, activities include a 3D interactive photo booth with costumes and props; themed body art from Skincognito; and the opportunity to test out your DJ skills with the Mash Machine, a new interactive music board where up to four players at a time can change the bass, drums and melody of tunes being played by shifting blocks across a screen.
Mix and mingle with a variety of roving performers that include giant LED robots and giant Brazilian carnival queens. Live art activations and amazing light installations will transform the rooftop further into a hub of vibrant colour.
Plenty of interesting fun to be had and, when you need food and drink, there's plenty of that on offer too with food stalls featuring a range of cuisines from various restaurants. You'll find seafood from Costi's, authentic Italian from Italian Street Kitchen, Thai street food from noodle bar Thai Riffic and burgers from Burgers By Josh with a special burger on the menu for this event. Greenwood Hotel, in its beautiful old sandstone school building on the rooftop, will also serve up their tasty fare and will host four pop-up bars, including one dedicated to Aperol Spritz.
