The Riverton Leisureplex was part of a multi-million dollar project to create a complex that would cater to all of the community's sporting and recreational needs. With a fitness centre, kids gym, cafe', crèche, and a full-sized indoor Olympic swimming pool, the complex does just that, and a whole lot more.
The fantastic Riverton Leisureplex
The stand out feature of the complex is the fantastic Aquatic Hall, which features a full-sized indoor Olympic pool, a leisure pool to chill out in, and a 50m waterslide and deep pool.
Saturday, 7th of December @ 08:30am - $99 - 1 place left
However, If you're like me and you'd prefer to keep your feet dry, then the Contours Fitness Centre might be more your thing. It has everything you need to keep fit including a huge range of cardio equipment like bikes and rowers, and over 300 square metres of weight equipment. The cardio area is kept separate from the weights area and you can enjoy your workout while watching plasma screens televisions. Memberships or casual use are available.
After your workout you're probably going to want to head to the Therapy Suite. This one's a beauty. There's a deluxe spa (heated to 36 degrees), a sauna, and even a steam room. On top of this, there's a heated hydro pool, which also has access for wheelchairs.
The Lesireplex also has something for the little ones too. Tumblers Kids Gym (you might have seen it advertised recently on TV) is a four level play gym with a specially made area for babies and a toddler's circuit. The kids will be entertained for hours, making for a happy day out for mum and dad.
Speaking of parents, there's a great little café right next to Tumblers that offers light meals, snacks and coffee. It also has some nice poolside seating and a fantastic courtyard.
On top of the facilities I've mentioned above, the complex also has the community art centre and library on site. I've only delved into some of the things that the Riverton Leisureplex has to offer, so for the full list of facilities just click here.
