Revolver Upstairs

Revolver Upstairs is not a stairway to heaven, but if you love live music, a good feed and a great atmosphere, it's pretty close. Whether you're a local, or a foreigner to the Prahran region, you'll definitely be returning to Revolver for more of a taste of this quirky venue.

When you walk up those stairs on Chapel Street, you're walking into a mixing pot of all things deliciously chic. The venue stretches over two massive rooms, each one decorated with comfy couches and funky light fittings, casting a warm multi-coloured glow over the club. The shag pile carpet that covers the walls is a perfect complement to retro vibe that manifests through the 1970's arcade games and pin ball machines. Each bar is a decor focal point in itself, with a caged design that resembles an old fashioned elevator door. Of course, the bars in each room are also popular for another important reason; the drinks. Revolver Upstairs has an extensive range of drinks, however, prices are slightly higher than average, depending on your tipple of choice.

By far, one of the most famed aspects of Revolver Upstairs is the eclectic Thai restaurant located in the back room of the venue, Colonel Tan's. Open for dinner Tuesday – Saturday, this eatery offers quality dishes in a quirky environment. I would recommend dipping into the deep fried prawn fritters; your taste buds will thank you for it. If you're a student, be sure to flash your student card as you'll get a 20% discount. And if you're a local? Email Revolver and you could get up to 50% off these delectable delights on Thursdays.

Revolver Upstairs also offers a number of fun activities throughout the week to get you out of the house. Tuesday's is their trivia night where you can win a number of prizes whilst enjoying a pint, however registering is essential. Thursday's is definitely local's night, with regular special events from local traders and personalities. Of course I can't forget to mention the fantastic live music that Revolver Upstairs manages to present every week. Weather it's relaxing indie folk you're into, or electric DJ madness, I'm sure you'll find something to suit your taste.

This venue will have you sitting down for dinner at Colonel Tan's and leaving at breakfast. So if you're up for a big night, look no further than Revolver Upstairs.
