On October 4th we celebrate World Animal Day, and what better way to celebrate than with family, friends and furry friends at Glebe's Bicentennial Park. To mark the occasion, the RSPCA is hosting a weekend festival to celebrate cat and dog ownership!

On Saturday October 4th, Glebe's foreshore will be in a furry frenzy between 10am and 2pm with the "Rescue Me" event. If you're looking for a companion, or a member to complete your family, the RSPCA will be bringing along dogs they hope to rehome throughout the day. As someone who found their dog at the RSPCA, I could not be more in favour of seeing what wonderful animals you will meet!

Bicentennial park is pet-friendly so everyone is invited to bring their dogs along (on a lead of course) to enjoy the various other activities - pet rescue information, human food BBQ, RSPCA merchandise stalls, pet product expo stalls, etc. There is also a playground and plenty of space for kids to run around!



Sunday October 5th marks the very first "International Cat Film Furstival". The event runs from 6pm to 10pm with screening starting at 8pm. Held once again at Bicentennial Park, bring along your family and a picnic blanket to enjoy cat videos, the "Cattoo Parlour", the "Cat's Meow Club", and a variety of food! Tickets need to be purchased in advance, so head to the Cat Film Furstival website for more details and to book.

Even if you're not looking for an extra member to the family, the weekend is still an enjoyable day out for people of all ages, and the event is i close proximity to the cafes and shops of Glebe village, Newtown and the Sydney CBD.
