Fri 12 Apr 2013 - Wed 08 May 2013

Art & Design Precinct (West End) is currently running a fantastic photographic exhibition until the 8 May 2013. I attended the opening night and was extremely impressed with the work on display. Entry was only $10 (only on opening nights, otherwise free) and included a complimentary drink, as well as a very generous selection of nibbles stationed all around the venue.

The theme was Reflections - Life Through The Lens, which provided a varied display of work from still life, nature through to portrait photography, all unique and impressive in their own right.

Prior to the event, photographers/artists had an opportunity to submit their work and a handful of talent was chosen to exhibit. Exhibiting artists included: Michelle Bowden, Monty the Brave, Aileen Kumar, Tafline Hoey, Joanna Fairbrother, Bruce Chipman, Meg Black, Chris Gosley and Al Sutton.

Their work will continue to be on display until the 8th of May and all pieces are available for purchase (at very reasonable prices).

Art & Design Precinct is open to the general public on the following days & times :
Tues and Wed: 10am to 6pm
Thurs: 12 to 8pm
Fri: 10am to 6pm
Sat & Sun: 10am to 5pm

Art & Design Precinct really is something special and definitely worth a visit. It is tucked half way down Bailey Street, in the more industrial side of West End, providing a kind of sanctuary for artists and art lovers alike. With multiple spaces and studios it's the perfect venue for all things creative. For more information, please be sure to check out their blog ; and also become a fan of their Facebook page , where news & future events are updated on a regular basis.

Artists & photographers also have the opportunity to submit their work for next months' exhibition: Bloom. For more information please see here.

They are also hosting an event for the 'Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day' on Sunday 28 April with more details available here.

Special thanks to the Art and Design Precinct directors, Michelle Bowden and Grant Hiscock for inviting WeekendNotes to attend the opening night. It was a fabulous evening.
