If you were paying a professional to create a completely accurate resume about your skill set, what would be your first attribute of real note?

Mine would be Bargain Hound. Books, handbags, clothing. I can sniff a bargain a mile away.

Personally, I'm not a shopper. Never have been. All those escalators, elevators, canned music, and kiddies amusements in shopping complexes drive me to despair. Much happier to shop at markets, in little country towns, or even quirky secondhand stores. This is my most recent find in a charity store in Pomona. $6 ! Told you - bargain shopping is my forte.

I am therefore quite chuffed that the Redlands Rugby League Club are holding their first Redlands Wardrobe Rummage on Saturday, 20th August. This fashion market is a fundraiser for the club, which has been operating at the Pinklands Sporting Complex since 1971.

The Rugby League Club has over 450 registered players, with multiple teams in every age group and catering for players for all skill levels. This year, for the first time, they have been able to field a girls team with plans to expand on this. How cool is this! The club has two quality sports-fields that are bounded by beautiful gumtrees providing the location with that iconic Redlands feel.

When we visited the grounds on a recent busy Sunday, several games in play, we found the atmosphere very family orientated with people of all ages enjoying the games in the autumn sun.

Weekend sport. I remember those days vividly even though we are going back over a decade. Sport of any kind requires commitment even in a time poor society, even back then. But I don't regret the endless Saturday mornings standing on the sidelines and cleaning the mud out of little boots; the friendships made and the social opportunities that team sports afforded live on.

The $2 entry fee to the Redlands Wardrobe Rummage will in part go towards ground maintenance, kitchen upgrade and for awards at the end of season Presentation.

Fifty cents from each entry fee will go to the Night Ninjas, a Not For Profit organisation instrumental in assisting the homeless within the Redlands. The Night Ninjas operate a soup van as well as providing emergency assistance to those in need and are also looking to expand their services.

On sale will be new and preloved clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. Some items will still have their original tags on them! There will also be stalls with Intimo, Scentsy, and Nutrimetrics products, just to name a few, so I can already feel my nose beginning to twitch.

Stal& #322 ;s are still available at most reasonable rates. Why don't you get together with a few girlfriends, organise a group wardrobe cull, and then on-sell at the Redlands Wardrobe Rummage? Look, it's a job we need to do every so often so why not put a bit of fun into the whole exercise. For more information about being a stallholder contact Chrissy on [email protected] for further information.

The Club will have food, coffee, and wine on sale on the day so this has all the makings of a great Girl's Day Out. Grab a couple of girlfriends, enjoy the shopping experience, and then stop for lunch and a glass of wine. Why don't you issue a challenge to see who finds the best bargain of the day?

The Redlands Rugby League Club is at 226 Cleveland-Redland Bay Road, Thornlands, and has plenty of parking. The day begins at 9am and finishes at 2pm.

My personal challenge? Looking to bag another bargain, literally. Number two on my resume would be Handbag Addict.
