No matter how long you have lived in a particular city, there are always places that you unfortunately will never see or enjoy. However they needn't always remain unknown - simply take a different route to your next destination, you never know what you may find! Perhaps even use a different mode of transport, try cycling or perhaps venture by train or tram and get off at a different spot. Instead of simply walking down the same usual streets, take a camera and look at your city through another point of view - there is history, culture and new adventures to be found.

It does not matter if you have been residing in the same city since you were born, there are always new places to explore. Go out and rediscover your city. Maybe you'll find a narrow street with old houses with traces of old ways of living, or a small antique shop with pretty baubles or a hidden place with access to a more beautiful skyline .

I regularly try to find new places to explore wherever I am; recently I took two different adventures in Macao, where I lived for a few years. As the first photo above demonstrates, my experience was quite enriching because I got to see older parts of my city. I particularly liked seeing abandoned ship factories and an old port. Also, I got to see the conditions in which people lived a long time ago, which is quite mouth-opening because of the poorly constructed residencies (which is what the photo depicts). It is impressive that it hasn't gone down though.

As the second photo demonstrates, the next adventure was different altogether. This adventure was much more serene and beautiful and I really enjoyed myself and I took many other lovely photos. The place I visited was a garden that was seemingly hidden because of its surrounding walls. I got to take photos of old Chinese architecture constructions and ornaments. Also, there were really pretty flowers and scenery; great for photography junkies

As you rediscover your city, it is a good idea to take on new hobbies or revive old ones - try cycling , photography , perhaps create a short film or try your hand at painting. Also, this is a great way to spend some quality time outside with your friends or family, and with your beloved city. I'd suggest to not Google beforehand, so it can be more adventurous (unless you go to a dodgy place).

Also, some things to keep in mind:
(1) Do check the weather forecast. You may want to avoid bad weather. Some websites where you can do this are weather.com and BBC Weather
(2) Bring some money to buy food and beverages or anything pretty you may like.
(3) A big group of friends would make it more fun. However do set a limit, otherwise coordination will be difficult to handle.
(4) Comfortable shoes. You don't want to hurt your feet.

I highly recommend you to explore your city, because there are always places to discover. Also, don't be that type of person that has been living in the same place since forever and doesn't know it well. Maybe you can find a place that may enrich your life.
