Real Humans: Ep10 Season Final - Television Series Review

As I genuinely shed a tear in one of the scenes of the final episode of Real Humans, The Code, I'm also teary on the inside to see this highly entertaining series cease. I've really enjoyed watching this program and I've especially liked writing about it every week too. I was hooked from very early on and I'm really going to miss catching up with all the characters, I really looked forward to seeing what was going to unfold next. I only wish I knew when the next season would be rearing it's captivating head.

After last weeks rather shocking slaying of Niska (Eva Röse), Bea (Marie Robertson) continues on her hunt to find Leo (Andreas Wilson) and retrieve the final sequence of the code. She makes cut-throat decisions and proves hubots clearly do not need to be owned nor do they have any issues conducting themselves in a world of real humans. With Leo having finally been reunited with Mimi (Lisette Pagler), the two of them couldn't be happier to be together. If it weren't for his extremely compromised health and the authorities hot on their heels looking to do what they please with them, it would have been a far more warm and fuzzy reunion.

A more concerned and protective search party on the look-out for Mimi, are most of the Engmans. While Hans (Johan Paulsen) is not on board, Inger (Pia Halvorsen), Matilda (Natalie Minnevik) and Tobias (Kåre Hedebrant) are desperate to find Mimi. However they come to the conclusion she must have already been taken by the authorities, who then turn up on the Engmans doorstep with a very threatening presence. After that ordeal, Hans isn't happy and decides to leave with Sofia (Aline Palmstierna) to get her out of harms way. While on their way to the hotel they stumble across an old acquaintance, much to their surprise.

Amidst all the happenings with Mimi, the Engmans get called away and their focus is shifted. Lennart (Sten Elfström) is back in the picture, unfortunately under less than pleasant circumstances. The family pulls together in this time of need and realise what is truly important to them.

Family come together at Roger's (Leif Andrée) house too. With the hobuts still taking up residence in his home, it was only a matter of time before Kev (Fredrik Silbersky) worked out what was going on. Tired of the situation and wanting to protect his son, they come up with a plan. A decapitation ensues, obviously, would we expect anything else from this show now.

There's even more death and devastation in this final installment. However there is also sweetness, love and an underlying message of unity. People and hubots as it were, no matter their differences, still want many of the same things out of life. It's clear that they can live along side one another and even love each other.

The Swedish have created a winner here and I look forward to more of Real Humans and seeing other captivating foreign series hitting our screens as well.
