RAW is an inspiring 76 minute documentary written and directed by Jon-Michael Mooney. It follows Alan and Janette, two phenomenal human beings in their 60's who run 366 consecutive marathons around Australia in an effort to promote the benefits of a healthy plant based diet, and its benefits for people and planet.

Enjoying its Australian Premiere, it screens in Melbourne (Cinema Nova - 380 Lygon st, Carlton) on Friday 17 Feb at 6.30pm and Saturday 18 Feb at 12.30pm. Both screenings will be followed by Q & A with Janette and Alan and the filmmaker. However, the Friday's (17 Feb) session will also include Philip Wollen (Kindness House). Panel moderated by Anthony James - Rescope Project.

The screening in Sydney (Hayden Orpheum Cremorene - 380 Military Rd, Cremorne) on Thursday 9 Mar at 6.30pm will be followed by Q & A with Janette and Alan.

When Janette Murray-Wakelin was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in 2001 and given 6 months to live, she didn't just lie down and give up the fight. She knew she wanted to be around for her grandchild and had told him she would always be there for him. You don't break a promise to your grandsons. Determined and believing there was a better way, she embarked on a raw vegan diet. Along the way, she and her partner Alan have been on a mission to educate the public on the benefits of raw veganism.

In the wake of this life changing decision, they demonstrate what the human body is possible of. They'll inspire you to live consciously and think about the fuel and nutrients you put into your body from every meal. Motivated by their love for each other, love of family, planet, and all species, they become examples of how one instrument can solve a number of problems.

Powered by RAW, they set and break world records as they run across our vast continent, raw and exposed. Follow their highs and lows and the challenges they faced to be on the road. Plucking up raw courage to tackle their greatest challenge in life, they powered through days that included torrential rain and wind, and extreme 44 degree heat.

Janette and Alan's message comes through loud and clear and will have an impact on and transform the way we look at our diets. From such a simple act, results lead to disease prevention, clarity of mind, a huge increase in energy and inspiration to lead a more ethical and compassionate lifestyle. The side effects of the raw food revolution impact on a global scale, solving a number of problems like human health problems, environmental problems, and animal cruelty issues.

Don't miss the Q & A opportunity to be in the company of this inspiring couple who bring their story to the world. Let them rock your world and the way you think about health. Together we can make a difference for ourselves and the planet, and be a part of bringing this positive message to the world by example.

Head to the website and book your tickets, or you can buy it directly from the cinema. The Transitions Film Festival runs right through to March in both states, so be sure to check out other inspiring, eye opening documentaries that educates us about our planet, begging to be respected and saved for future generations.
