Travelling can be a drag - delays, cancellations, screaming children, and overpriced fatty food ... the list is pathetically long. So if you have the opportunity to step up the class, you have to step into the Qantas Club.

Being a frequent flyer has its benefits (I've learnt off someone else's bonus benefits) and the Qantas Club is definitely the best highlight. Arriving for my domestic flight 3 hours early ticked my box of 'getting off to a bad start.' That is until I was granted access to the Qantas Club in Sydney.

Exclusivity is obvious from the automatic glass doors programmed to keep the unlucky out. Once you have travelled up the escalator, you are warmly greeted by staff to a lounge with actors, models and executives shrugging about (and this isn't even the business lounge).

By now everyone is wondering the same thing - free food? Yes, ... tonnes.

With the food replenished instantly and switched up by the hour, it doesn't matter that your stomach is bursting; there is always room for more. Hot food is replenished by the hour; foreign flavours are bouncing in the cheese department, not to mention all the options for those with certain food intolerances. Luxury goodness is served with salads, cous cous, pastas, cured meats, curries and this isn't even the dinner menu. Sweet tooth? Baristas grind up some great quality beans with sides of biscuits, cakes and lollies. Try and restrain yourself - you can always do fifths!

Need something to wash it down? Please enjoy the unlimited complimentary beers, wines, ciders and spirits. Whilst it can help deal with pre-flight jitters, its important to control. Let's just say that taking advantage of the bar is quite an obvious sign that it's your first time.

Prices are steep but can be reduced through company accounts, so it might be worth a looking into if you're a frequent flyer. If you're not, try and attach yourself to one! Individual prices range from $800 to $2000, so the experience is definitely one to relish.

Not a bad way to fly!
