Sydney city has so many parks at ideal locations and each one has something unique to offer. Continuing the tradition is the fairly new
Pyrmont Point Park at the end of Pirrama Road in Pyrmont. Located next to Jones Bay Wharf and opposite
Star City Casino, Pyrmont Point Park is a splendid park ideal for a family weekend or may be a wedding photo shoot.
The park itself has two prominent elements, the Foreshore Park which includes a Foreshore promenade and an observation deck and the Belvedere Park overlooking the Foreshore Park. The Foreshore Park gives access to an outboard walk and a view of maritime remnants which are hidden and revealed by the tidal cycles.
This award winning park has features that include free barbecue setups, shade structures, seating areas, boardwalks and childrens playground. In the morning and evening, the boardwalk comes alive with walkers and joggers as well as groups participating in boot camp and yoga. For small fishing experiences, you can also fish over the edge of the promenade and might be lucky enough to catch a yellow tail fish or a flathead.
The Foreshore park's observation deck allows you to experience a panoramic view of the nearby wharfs, parts of the Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge, Jones Bay and the Anzac bridge in the distance. These wonderful views are helping Pyrmont Point Park to soon gain popularity as an ideal wedding photography location. This park is also the perfect spot for watching the fireworks exploding across Sydney on New Year's Eve.
If you want to enjoy a weekend in the city with your family or just may be a fun evening barbecue with mates, then Pyrmont Point Park would be the right place to go if you haven't explored it earlier. If you are still waiting for a reason to get there then just wait for the Sydney Ports Jazz on the Water Festivals where Pyrmont Point Park will be the scene of a terrific line up of top jazz performers on Australia day in January 2010.
