There is something uplifting and inspiring about meeting people that are truly passionate about what they do. This may be one of the reasons people keep coming back to Put Your Heart Into It workshops. I attended their Natural Skincare and Herb Workshop held on the weekend and there were a number of return participants as well as first-timers who I'm sure will be seeking out future workshops run by this duo.
Good friends Anna D'Amelio (of Miod Skincare ) and Laura Issell (of Interior Hunter ), have combined their skills, talents and knowledge to create Put your heart into it workshops. The workshop topics vary from; creating natural skincare, to styling events, to making terrariums, and making handmade gifts, but all focus on inspiring creativity and style in a sustainable way.

Anna and Laura bring together distinct backgrounds in natural skincare and styling and a shared environmental consciousness to create one-of-a-kind workshops that provide a wonderful overall package. The Natural Skincare & Herb Workshop was one of a number of workshops held at Urbanlife Cafe in Ringwood as part of the #about ">Maroondah Art Trail .

As soon as you enter the workshop room, you know it's been set up by someone who knows how to make things look beautiful. Everything from the ingredients on the tables to the afternoon tea has been prepared with attention to detail and aesthetics in mind.

Once the workshop begins, the combination of two different but complimentary personalities provide a welcoming, relaxed and inspiring environment. It is clear both know their topics in-depth and a lot can be learnt from a workshop. At the same time, the atmosphere provides for a really relaxed and enjoyable day.

The best thing was looking at what you get to take away at the end of the day. I have a beautiful face oil, body scrub, room spray (all made from natural, organic plant and essential oils) and a herb hanging decoration as well as a beautifully wrapped gift box, all made by my own hand to give away as gifts. Not bad for an afternoon's work! I also now have the know-how and inspiration to make these handmade gifts again.

There's nothing like receiving a handmade gift that someone has taken the time to create, or being able to put your heart into something and create something beautiful to give away to friends and family.

The Christmas Handmade Gift Workshop will be held 1-4pm on Saturday the 22nd of November at 143 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood. You will learn how to make a ceramic vessel, bowl or dish, a hanging open terrarium glass ball and complete the gifts with up-cycled Christmas gift wrapping and tags (you'll never look at gift-wrapping the same again!).The cost for the workshop is $95 and includes a bountiful afternoon tea, instruction and all materials.
