If you're looking for an exciting, fun and potentially rewarding way to spend your week nights one excellent way to do it is with pub quizzes. There are various companies operating around Perth but the most engaging, fun and humorous are those held by Quiz Meisters Trivia.
Their quizzes are a mix of history, geography, general knowledge, sports, music and quirky facts conveyed through video questions, mario kart racing, terrible singing and acting and heads or tails mayhem. The prizes offered are usually determined by the venue and are usually fairly generous - ranging from free jugs to wine bottles and bar cards.
In Perth you can find Quiz Meisters at the following venues:
Monday: The Claremont
Tuesday: The Byrneleigh, The Rosemount, Paddington Ale House.
The venues change pretty frequently and is kept up to date on their website.
Quizzes start around 7:30pm-8pm and on an average night you can expect between five to eight teams competing - pretty good odds!
Another decent Quiz company is the locally owned One Thing. This is a music only quiz that incorporates some pretty fun ways to ask the questions - my favourite being the heads or Tails inspired "Barnsey or Farnsey". The questions are mostly suited to older music with some exceptions - so make sure you beef up your superhit knowledge before attempting this one.
The One Thing operates at the following venues:
Wednesday: The Como, The Carine
Thursday: The Saint
Saturday: Market City Tavern
One Thing quizzes can get pretty big - for example the Carine averages at least eight teams every week - but more people equals more atmosphere. It's good fun even if you do lose.
