A very Chapel Street event, Provocaré is exactly what you need to shake those winter blues away. As its name suggests, this year, be prepared to be provoked, challenged and aroused by some of Australia's top artists and emerging visual and performing artists. Following on from last year's hugely successful inaugural festival, the wonderful eclectic precinct that is Chapel Street is ready to entertain you!

While you're there, be sure to take the time to explore the many nooks and crannies dotted with unique cafes, bars and shops all within walking distance of upcoming events at Provocaré! Stay free from 5-15 July 2018 to immerse yourself in a culture that's already booming as 'the place to be', with plenty to see and do. Grab yourself the .pdf programme right here to ogle over all the entertainment coming your way.

Last year's Provocaré saw international UK street artist Phlegm commissioned by Chapel Street Precinct Association as part of this Festival Of The Arts. His four-storey mural, a landmark piece of public art that took over a week to complete, still stands. It's on the northern wall of the Love and Lewis historical building of 1913, attached to the Pran Central shopping centre.

This year's Provocaré has upped the ante by bringing in international artist Spencer Tunick for a Return of the Nude. It definitely calls for your grit as a true blue to bare all and expose yourself to turning blue as our weather approaches winter. If you think you have what it takes to grin and 'bare' it and blow the blues out of winter, Tunick is looking for your registration to participate. It's gonna get interesting on Chapel Street.

During the festival, public transport is a great option to get around if you don't want to have to worry about parking . With South Yarra, Prahran and Windsor train stops all along Chapel Street Precinct, you'll be at the heart of everything .

Straight off the train, perhaps you can grab an EcoCaddy , which will again provide a unique, reliable, charismatic and fun service for FREE, so you can move around from one entertainment venue or restaurant along Chapel Street to the next. Fully insured, EcoCaddy are legally recognised as a bicycle and will be using the cycle lanes. They'll take you places where most other forms of public transport can't go. Plus it could well make for a fun and romantic way to get about on date night.

Club Provocaré is your stop for sexy, sassy and glittery. Renown as the Queen of Kink, Bernie Dieter will host a killer all-star cast of burlesque and cabaret acts from around the world. You'd want to start booking for this event as it's going to be the hottest ticket in town. Who doesn't love a little bit of bump and grind burlesque that is professionally executed, yet deliciously wicked.

If it's date night for you, you might want to explore I Want To Know What Love Is , which is joyous, sexy and heartbreaking at the same time. It's an emotional ride along a gritty collision course that is love. A no holds barred digging into 800 anonymous stories that enjoyed two critically-acclaimed sold-out seasons; tickets are bound to sell first.

Other theatrical events for a little something different includes The Death of Walt Disney , an adrenaline-charged odyssey. Then there's Reuben Kaye , described as 'the evil love child of Liza Minnelli and Jim Carrey' by British Theatre Guide. It's touted you have a good chance of being fondled if you sit at the front. Amassing a handful of awards in 2017, this show speaks for itself.

Empty Bodies takes you from birth to death, infused with a circus-drama. Graduates from NICA will amaze and astound in a mix of provocative solo and group acts. After or before the show, why not enjoy some Dinner In The Dark . A three-course journey of food and wine by iconic chefs from Chapel Precinct, and a secret location that'll only be revealed 24 hours before. How exciting and mysterious! Then the fun begins, as you're blindfolded and have to rely on your taste buds and enjoy your purely sensory-driven response. If you have any dietary requirements, let them know more than 7 days ahead.

After all the excitement and the fun of the Festival, an ArtWalk may just be the ticket. Visit Windsor's version of Hosier Lane and hear the stories, but first, begin the journey on a rooftop sculpture park. Keep in mind it's only running over 2 weekends from 3pm to 5.30pm. However Chapel Precinct holds a host of other amazing galleries like the large airy space that is Bromley & Co on Chapel street in Windsor and ArtBoy Gallery on Greville Street in Prahran to name a couple.

Let's not forget, over the ten days of Provocaré , there's lots to do at Chapel Precinct , be it getting a little retail therapy , exploring a vast range of diverse eateries , or simply come to play and stay , because a few hours is just not enough! Happy Provocaré everyone. Stay updated via the provided links.
