The crowds at the Boxing Day sales in the city
I was one of the brave souls who successfully conquered
Pitt Street Mall this past Boxing Day. The crowds just stunned me; the crowds were similar to what the city is like on New Years Eve, and no different to feeling like you are in Hong Kong.
Welcome to the post Christmas sales.
There was a bit of pushing and shoving at
Myer in the city, yet I was able to score great bargains on some beauty products. I headed towards the
Queen Victoria Building, and even
Broadway Shopping Centre and the crowds were still around. Is it really worth being amongst the crowds in order to get a bargain or two? I think so. Some Boxing Day sales are for one day only, but most post Christmas sales will run until the end of January.
Things were much calmer the day before New Years Eve when I headed to
Crabtree and Evelyn at the Queen Victoria Building where I was able to buy some lavender hand cream (much needed) for only $18, down from $30. And for what this is worth, this very same hand cream was slightly cheaper at this locale than if I had went to buy it at one of their factory outlet stores. Better to buy in luxurious surroundings.
How about you? Were you also a brave person conquering the Sydney crowds on Boxing Day in the city? And did you pick up some bargains? And was it worth being amongst the crowds?
Looking forward to your viewpoint on this.
