After last year's big success, one of London's most famous market streets will once again be hosting the
Portobello Winter Festival.
The fun-for-the-whole-family festival takes place along Portobello Road and Goldborne Road every Wednesday from the 25th of November through to the 16th of December and promises
even more entertainment than it provided last year – and all for the princely sum of nothing!
Here's a taste of what to expect:
- Children's entertainers
Sparkletown will be coming along to paint faces as well as twist and squash balloons into a variety of amusing shapes.
Flaming good performance troupe Fireflyz will be keeping any winter chills at bay by doing things with fire that you never thought possible.
Kids will be beside themselves with delight when they realise they'll have a chance to meet Santa in his grotto! You'll the find the bearded bringer-of-gifts at the Portobello Green Arcade on the 25th of November and the 2nd/9th of December from 4pm to 7pm; and the 5th/12th of December from 11am to 5pm (£2.50 per child).
-
Thrill the World Zombie London are set to perform 'Chiller', billed as "a festive tribute to Michael Jackson", which sounds intriguing to say the least.

Singers such as the Happy Day Gospel Choir, Kate Stevenson, the East London Soul Singers, and Lucy Michelle Hopes will be performing.
The 2nd of December is being themed as the Maghrebi Winter Festival with Moroccan food, belly dancing performances, massages from the Eastern Garden Oriental Therapy Centre and the film premiere of 'Zohra: A Moroccan Fairy Tale'.
And if all that isn't enough, look out for the food market, free food tastings, comedy shows, dancers,
film shows (including screenings of Up, The Wizard of Oz, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Nightmare Before Christmas), workshops and an interactive street art exhibition. On top of that, you've also got a ton of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants in the vicinity, so it's fair to say you
won't be short of things to do.
