As
Cronulla Ferries takes you on one of its
scenic cruises around
Port Hacking, you'll be soaking up the history as you soak up the scenery.
In 1796, Bass and Flinders spent three days charting the area in the
Tom Thumb II. But these days, the
Tom Thumb III will show you everything you need to see in just three hours.
Gliding amongst the port's nooks and crannies reveals a string of lovely shoreline homes, pristine stretches of water and the wooded beauty of the
Royal National Park.
And while you're admiring the views, you'll discover Aboriginal sites, learn about the first Europeans to enter the district, pass by the state's first fish hatchery and more.
From September to May, cruises depart daily at 10.30am, with an additional trip scheduled for Sundays at 2pm. From June to August, ferries leave at 10.30am on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. During school holidays, there are daily departures at 10.30am – except during the July school holidays, when all cruises are cancelled. Bookings (9523-2990) are encouraged.
