Think of a London museum and what springs to mind? The Natural History Museum? A great choice. The British Museum? Fascinating. The Science Museum? Unforgettable.
But where do you go if you fancy something a bit different and slightly off the beaten track? If you enjoy discovering hidden London gems then
Pollock's Toy Museum in Scala Street won't disappoint.
A stone's throw away from Tottenham Court Road, the museum is a little warren of rooms and staircases filled to the brim with oldie worldy toys and games. It's quite cramped and manoeuvring yourself between the various displays is a bit of a challenge, but if you're a sprightly sort then it's worth the effort.
Mere rooms were clearly not enough to contain these toys as more were exhibited up and down the museums staircases. From dolls and teddy bears to board games and mechanical toys, you can't fail to reminisce when strolling through this museum.
With enough nostalgia to rival a Christmas morning, a wander around Pollock's will leave you heading for the ground floor shop in search of a toy to call your own.
