Meet A Friend For A Lunch Or Breakfast
This is a bit of a surprise cafe on the busy main road in Derrimut near Sunshine golf course. There aren't many eateries on this stretch except for McDonald's and Subway.
Look out for the sig amongst the shops
It's quite a large and busy cafe with regular tradies in the morning and office and factory workers at lunch. It has a very large range of fresh home made hot and cold food. They have salads, many varieties of sandwiches (pick your own fresh feelings) focaccias as well as fried foods and substantial hot meals such as roast of the day, pesto pasta, chicken curry and beef stroganoff.
When I was perusing the possibilities I found the many staff friendly and helpful. One of them called me 'darling' and to my surprise I rather liked it. That probably says more about me than the people who work at Poci.
Reasonably priced Pesto
Somehow I managed to resist the potato cakes and dim sims and chose a delicious, enormous Turkish bread with spinach filling. If I had not been so engrossed in the conversation I may not have mindlessly eaten such a large service. I wish I'd taken half of my focaccia home and indulged in one of their oversized decadent slices. The rocky road was speaking to me when I paid the bill.
Delicious spinach filling
My companion had a simple egg and bacon toasted sandwich, which she also enjoyed. The service to the tables was fast and we were served by one of the owners who stayed for quite a long time for a bit of a chat.
Apparently much of the food is home made and they supply corporate catering as well. They are only open weekdays, drop in for a look. I'm sure there's something there for every taste.
