Plum Tucker is slang for good food and I found this and more at this modern Red Hill café and eatery.

The venue
Plum Tucker is housed in a historic terrace building (similar to those more commonly seen in Sydney and Melbourne) and on the corner of busy Waterworks Road and Enoggera Terrace linking Red Hill and Paddington. Seating is available on the kerb, as well as in the plant-filled, covered outdoor courtyard with an oasis of meandering vines.

A private loft room is also located upstairs which is great for functions and parties. Eclectic, mismatched furniture (some wooden, country cottage style, and some modern outdoor) fills the space with staff providing table service. Oh, and I couldn't help but notice that several water bowls are placed outside for thirsty pups. When I decided to visit, I had wondered whether street noise might be a problem, but it was not even an issue.





What is there to eat?
The menu offers dairy and gluten free options and vegan and paleo meals focussing on lazy breakfasts and relaxing lunches. Some notable items include "Trust the Chef" brekky board at $21, spring pea and broad bean pappardelle at $17, and for something sweet, there's the apple crepe stack at $15.

The kids have their own menu which caters to little appetites with cereals, toasts and toppings, a lunch pack and assorted milk and cold drinks. The full Plum Tucker menu can be seen here . And did I mention that Plum Tucker is licensed!





Catering and parking
But wait, there's more. Plum Tucker provides breakfast and lunch catering options for corporate and private events along with free delivery for catering packages over $80 and within a 10km radius (not including CBD). Sounds useful with Christmas parties fast approaching.



Parking is available at the back of the building, (entering via Waterworks Road). There is also 15 minute, 30 minute, 2 hour, and unlimited street parking along Enoggera Terrace but get in early – it is highly sought after.
