The secret to a good life: laughter, friendship, food and awesome music.
Event: 19/02/2012

You don't have to be a poet or a literary academic to appreciate poetry. If you are a lover of words, storytelling, or merely willing to give anything a try, then I highly recommend attending a poetry slam.

This Sunday night, The Centre for Poetics and Justice will launch its first poetry slam for the year entitled "Please Resist Me" in Melbourne at the Revolt Melbourne Artspace. Australian Poetry Slam Champion, Luka Lesson, along with talented Joel McKerrow and the emerging voice of Alia Gabres will be performing their works and launching their poetry collection.

While the tickets are cheap, the performances are worth far more than their ticket prices and make for a highly stimulating and thought-provoking night.

If you've never attended a poetry slam, let alone a poetry performance, then here is your perfect opportunity and chances are you'll find yourself elated and mesmerised by symphony of words and gesticulations.

The tour will continue across Australia's east coast.
