Any golf fanatic living or working in London will tell you that the hardest thing, besides getting a hole in one, is finding the time to actually play.

It's the kind of sport that requires a good chunk of time – and much of that can be taken up just by travelling a long way out of town to and from the venue, as well as looking for your ball in the rough.

Now imagine finishing work at six o'clock and within half an hour finding yourself eyeing up the first hole at Wentworth....or St. Andrews....or even Valderrama in Spain. For golf lovers across London, this is possible. Kind of.

Urban Golf in Soho
is home to six state-of-the-art golf simulators that allow you to choose from 50 championship courses around the world.

You'll also find a putting green on the premises so you can brush up on your short-shot technique too.

Urban Golf offers all kinds of rates, from £10 for 30 minutes (perfect for lunchtime) up to £50 an hour during peak times.

Those of a competitive bent might want to consider joining Urban Golf's league. Click here for more information.

Golf lessons given by qualified experts are also available, whether you're an absolute beginner or a more experienced player.

The design of the Soho venue is modern and stylish, having undergone a refit in 2008.

Besides the golfing there's also the 19th hole, comprising a comfortable cocktail bar and lounge.

The food menu includes small bites such as chicken wings (£4) and hummus and pitta bread (£4), as well as more filling options like the club sandwich (£6.50) and burger (£9.50).

Bottled beers on the drinks menu include Asahi and Sol (£3.50).

Urban Golf gives busy London-based golfers a chance to keep their eye in, or simply makes for an entertaining night out.

They also have premises in Smithfield and Kensington.
