Pizza is all about the dough', I was once told by an Italian foodie in my days travelling. So my first taste of Pizzaperta located The Star, reminded me of pizza eaten in Italy with the delicious flavour, texture and minimal toppings.
Pizzaperta's dough is made up of unrefined stoneground flour imported from Italy, matured and leavened naturally for a minimum of 24 hours resulting in a more digestible dough.
With a menu of simple seasonal flavours cooked in a wood fired oven delivered to your table in a custom made biodegradable takeaway box which comes with perforated lid which can be ripped into 4 plates replacing the need for crockery. Pizzas vary in cost from $14 - $27.
The kids loved the Pinos mozzarella, smoked leg ham and mushroom pizza whereas the adults gobbled up the seasonal pizza of asparagus, broccoli puree, Montasio cheese with prosciutto crackle. Opting for a couple of containers of chilli oil for an extra zing just heightened the whole taste experience even more.
You won't know what you have been missing til you've tried it for yourselves. Can't wait to be back for more pizza, the whole family will love.
