To all the pawrents and furbabies of Brisbane, are you ready for the newest and most pet friendly market around? Well, if you're not, then get ready - because Brisbane's first ever pet only market is about to become your newest Saturday tradition! Save the date; mark it down in your diaries - Pets at the Gabba are having their first market on Saturday March 25th 2017, and then every Saturday from then onwards. Unlike your average markets which tend to start bright and early around sunrise before closing at around noon, Pets at the Gabba will be held from 3pm to 9pm. The reason behind this unique time-slot is to ensure that pets who accompany their pawrents do not overexert themselves in the scorching afternoon heat - there's no need to worry about cracked paws and heatstroke at these markets.
There are already heaps of stalls that have confirmed their attendance at the markets, either as a regular or as a once-off. Either way, the organisers hope to have a mix of different stalls each week, although of course there will always be regular stalls too. Here are some of the confirmed stalls to get you pumped for the much anticipated March 25th, with the acknowledgement that applications are still rolling in day by day, and that you can expect an even bigger turnout on the day!
Pets at the Gabba was made possible by two passionate animal-lovers who worked day in and day out to turn their vision into reality. Lia and Renee, organisers of Pets at the Gabba, saw that the pet community needed this type of market; a market that provides consumers with a wide variety of pet related products, and access to canine services in the one place. Plus, Pets at the Gabba will have a nominated 'Charity of the Month' who will receive part of the market stall cost as a donation, in addition to receiving all proceeds from raffles that will take place, using items and/or services donated from stall holders and other pet companies who can't make it there but want to support the cause. Aside from organising Pets at the Gabba, Lia and Renee also have a successful doggie business themselves - check out L'Barkery for unique doggie treats such as Puppicinos, Pupsicles, and even 'Paw Blonde' doggy beer. Although they will not be holding a stall at the markets on a regular basis, there will be stockists at the markets who will - and if one week there isn't, you just might see L'Barkery have their own stall!

Of course, Pets at the Gabba doesn't just cater towards pets - the humans are also spoiled for choice when it comes to these markets. Check out these entertainment and food vendors that have already confirmed their attendance at the market launch, with more to be finalised - this is just a sneak preview of what you can expect on the day!
Plus, there'll be live music courtesy of JMC Academy to really get the ambience going. What are you waiting for - start counting down the days till March 25th! Pets at the Gabba will be held at 73 Ipswich Rd in Woolloongabba, across from the Norman Hotel. The premises already have a licensed cafe, The Canvas Art Café & Drive-Thru, and an American Smoke House.
Note: The first charity of the month is RSPCA QLD.
Thanks Jane, unfortunately I tried emailing the organisers the same day your article was published to no avail. I am still awaiting a reply. I was planning upon taking my 93 yr old Mother but if there is no onsite parking she will not be able to attend. Whilst she is up to a little stroll around the market she is incapable of walking any distance from or back to the car if we need to park in adjacent streets.
