While poetry may not seem like fun to some people, the North Eastern Writers' Inc in conjunction with the City of Tea Tree Gully have created Tea Tree Gully Poetry Festival to celebrate and show just how much fun and enjoyment performing poetry can be for all ages, especially when it involves our pets and animals.

A part of this festival is a free event where you are invited to a special recitation of poetry celebrating our pets through poetry. So, bring your family, bring your pet (on a leash, if need be), bring a picnic, or enjoy the Lions sausage sizzle, and listen to some wonderful poems about pets and animals at the Ashley Park Dog Park on Sunday, 27 October 2013 from 12.30 - 2.00 pm.

This is a rare opportunity to hear published poets read their hilarious poems about pets - and to also hear some talented young poets who have penned beautiful and quirky poems about their furry, feathery friends.

Poetry Competition for all young poets and pet lovers!

GREAT PRIZES!

If you are under 12 years of age and you would like to enter the poetry competition, please visit the Tea Tree Gully Library website (news and events) for an entry form.

Your poem may be read at Pets and Poems at the Park.
